MX5 Rotor RCF Setting Instructions

  1. Purpose
    1. This work instruction describes the process for altering the RCF settings in the MX5 centrifuge.
       
  2. Equipment/Software
    1. None.
       
  3. Instructions
    1. Press the Stop and Enter buttons at the same time
    2. Press the Up button until the speed shows 00008
    3. Press the RCF/RPM button to move to the next digit
    4. Press the Up button until the speed shows 00018
    5. Press the Enter button
    6. Press the Set button – P31 will blink
    7. Press the Up button to change P31 to P33 - P33 is rotor 1 RCF calculation
    8. Press the Set button
    9. Press the Up or Down button to change the flashing value. Press the RCF/RPM button to move from digit to digit. Final value should be 1510
    10. Press Set button
    11. Press the Up button to change from P33 to P35 - P35 is rotor 2 RCF calculation
    12. Press the Set button
    13. Press the Up or Down button to change the flashing value. Press the RCF/RPM button to move from digit to digit. Final value should be 1170
    14. Press Set button
    15. Press the Up button to change P35 to P37 - P37 is rotor 3 RCF calculation
    16. Press the Set button
    17. Press the Up or Down button to change the flashing value. Press the RCF/RPM button to move from digit to digit. Final value should be 1460
    18. Press Set button
    19. Press the Up button to change from P37 to P39 - P39 is rotor 4 RCF calculation
    20. Press Set button
    21. Press the Up or Down bu9on to change the flashing value. Press the RCF/RPM button to move from digit to digit. Final value should be 1250
    22. Press Set button 23. Press Enter button
       
  4. Additional Information
    1. Rotor 1 is identified as P33
    2. Rotor 2 is identified as P35
    3. Rotor 3 is identified as P37
    4. Rotor 4 is identified as P39
    5. Rotor 5 is identified as P41
    6. Rotor Radius in units of 0.1mm
