  3. Instructions
    1. Confirm that all necessary components are present to complete the conversion.
    2. Base Conversion

      1. Plug in the unit and turn it on using the power switch located above the power socket.
      2. Gently press down on the lid. While pressing down on the lid, press the “STOP” button located on the membrane label until an audible click is heard, indicating that the solenoid mechanism has unlocked. Lift the lid.
      3. Turn off the power to the unit and unplug the power socket.
      4. Remove the rotor’s plastic cover shield by unscrewing the thumbscrew knob. Set aside for reuse after the conversion is complete.
      5. Remove the metal rotor from the unit by lifting it off the motor shaft. Set aside for reuse.
      6. Close the lid of the unit and flip the unit upside down so that the bottom of the unit is facing upwards.
      7. Unscrew 10 (100090) screws from the base. Set aside for reuse.

      8. Unscrew 6 (100064) screws and remove 6 rubber feet (100004) from the base. Set aside for reuse.

      9. Gently lift the base from the unit while taking care not to exert the motor wires into tension. Unclip the motor wires from the plastic clasps and unplug the motor cable 6-pin and 5-pin terminals that connect the motor to the circuit board. After doing so, set aside the unit body to begin removing the motor assembly from the base plate.
      10. Place the separated base plate + motor assembly on the workspace and remove 3 (101098) screws and 3 (101097) washers. Lift the motor off the rubber motor mounts and set aside for reuse.

      11. Acquire a 100952-E base plate, 3 (100294) Vibration Absorbers, 3 (101348) machine screws, 6 (100067) washers, and 3 (100057) hex nuts, and assemble the motor assembly to base plate using the following figure. Reuse the motor, rubber feet, and (100064) screws.

ITEM # PART # DESCRIPTION QTY.
        1 100294 Vibration Absorber; Rubber 3
        2 101348 Machine screw; M6 3
        3 100067 Washer; split lock; M6 6
        4 100057 Nut; hex; M6 3
        5 100952-E Base Plate; MX12 1

      12. Clip the motor wires to the plastic clasps inside the unit and plug the motor cable 6-pin and 5-pin terminals that connect the motor to the circuit board.
      13. Reattach the converted base plate and motor assembly to the unit by reusing the 10 (100090) screws.

      14. Plug in the unit and power the unit on.
      15. Open the lid and replace the rotor and rotor plastic cover shield. Do not overtighten the plastic cover shield thumbscrew.
      16. Close the lid. Run the MX12 unit at 12,000 RPM for 3 minutes to verify successful conversion of the MX12 Base.
